Students will learn to recognize and understand the technical, theoretical, and aesthetic aspects of video storytelling through exploration of topics such as understanding the core elements of good video stories and developing narrative structures for different video formats (e.g., social media, digital news, short documentaries). Students will learn about visual theories, how to shoot video using smartphones and digital video equipment, how to interview people on camera, and how to produce and edit impactful video stories.
