Course Description
Course information provided by the 2025-2026 Catalog.
This course will cover the physical principles governing the molecular basis of life and its use in biotechnologies. Emphasis will be placed on deconstructing biological phenomena from a quantitative perspective of reaction kinetics principles. Specific topics will include protein-ligand binding, enzymatic reactions, gene expression, receptor trafficking, and biomolecular networks. The course will systematically develop and apply mechanistic models of biomolecular rate processes to study complex biological phenomena.
Prerequisites CHEME graduate core or equivalent, or permission of instructors.
