The most exciting and unknown terrestrial frontier lies deep inside cave systems! Expand your horizons to include the netherworld. Learn cave geology, map reading skills, rope systems, cave safety, environmental concerns, and hone teamwork and communication skills in this introductory class. Expect to be challenged and inspired as you explore caves in Eastern NY. You can expect to crawl and get dirty in these wild, beautiful caves. One weekend outing include car camping.

Satisfies Requirement Satisfies one PE requirement if taken as PE. First class is required, students must attend all classes to receive PE credit.

    Course fee: $345 The first class meeting will be held on campus in Bartels Hall, room B01. The overnight trip through the weekend (5/3-5/5) will first meet at Bartels Hall and then travel to Schoharie county, NY. Transportation is provided to classes off campus.
    Drop Deadline: Tuesday, January 21, 2025. Students will be responsible for the course fee and assessed a $50 late drop fee if they do not drop by the deadline.
