Course Description
Course information provided by the Courses of Study 2022-2023.
Designed to give qualified undergraduate students teaching experience through actual involvement in planning and assisting in courses in the Environment & Sustainability curriculum. This experience may include facilitating discussion groups and assisting in field or laboratory classes. Undergraduate teaching assistants will regularly discuss course objectives and teaching techniques with the faculty member in charge of the course.
When Offered Fall, Spring.
Prerequisites/Corequisites Prerequisite: previous enrollment in course to be taught, or equivalent and permission of instructor.
Comments Students must register via the online Special Studies form.
Outcomes- Explain the fundamental concepts presented in the course.
- Support student learning through one-to-one and group instruction.
- Help maintain the course CANVAS site.
- Plan and present interactive class activities.

Instruction Mode: Independent Studies
Prerequisite: previous enrollment in the course to be taught or permission of instructor. Students from ALL Colleges must submit a CALS Special Studies Form (Available online: http://cals.cornell.edu/academics/registrar/policies/#independent-study). Do not enroll in Section 601 through Student Center. Arts & Sciences students: this course will still appear on official transcripts and be factored into cumulative GPA (if taken for a letter grade) but does not count towards your 12 credits to be in good academic standing. You may petition (one time only) to your advising dean to carry fewer than 12 other credits and remain in good standing. This would affect Dean's List eligibility but not eligibility for graduating with Distinction.
Arts & Sciences students: this course will still appear on official transcripts and be factored into cumulative GPA (if taken for a letter grade) but does not count towards your 12 credits to be in good academic standing.
