Course Description
Course information provided by the Courses of Study 2021-2022.
Free and forced response of vibrating mechanical systems modeled as having one, two and several degrees of freedom, as well as models of continuous structures such as beams. Eigenanalysis. Vibration design: isolators, absorbers.
When Offered Spring.
Prerequisites/Corequisites Prerequisite: MAE 3260 or permission of instructor.
Outcomes
- Students will be able to be proficient at modeling vibrating mechanical systems.
- Students will be able to perform analysis such as systems characterization and modeling of SDOF and MDOF systems.
- Students will be able to understand concepts in passive vibration control systems.
