Course Description
Course information provided by the Courses of Study 2017-2018.
An introduction of core concepts encountered in entrepreneurial businesses. The class is designed to broadly prepare students for working in start-up entrepreneurial environments and assist in fostering a like mindset. The course consists of lectures, guest speakers and a short written paper. By the end of the course, students will be able to discuss topics and issues related to beginning and running start-up companies. Participants will understand terminology and general concept categories including idea validation and market assessment, product and marketing strategy, networking, team selection culture and team building, legalities formation issues, business partnerships, marketing tactics, patents trademarks copyrights and financing business.

*Open to GM, Grad and UG Srs/Jrs only. ** S/U or Letter Grade Only - NO AUDITS ALLOWED ** Deadline to Change Grading Option: March 21st at 4:00pm Add/Drop Dates: Johnson Students – January 16th at 8:00am to February 7th at 4:00pm. Non-Johnson Students: February 1st at 8:00am to February 7th at 4:00pm. You may add or drop a full semester class after February 7th with permission of the faculty. A late fee of $100.00 will be charged for each add or drop transaction. If you are dropping after March 21st you will also receive a "W" on your transcript in addition to the late fees. Non-Johnson students may add themselves to the waitlists during their enrollment periods, however Johnson Students have priority into the classes and non-Johnsons will be enrolled: 1) IF seats are still available after Johnson students complete their enrollment period and 2) IF the instructor allows.
