Course Description
Course information provided by the Courses of Study 2017-2018.
A graduate level course in celestial mechanics and astrodynamics. Course topics include orbit specification and determination; 2- and 3-body problems; Hill's equations; Lagrange's planetary equations; effects of various forces (e.g., drag, radiation pressure, etc.); secular and resonant perturbations; variation of parameters; effects of non-spherical bodies; chaos and long-term evolution; algebraic and symplectic mappings.
When Offered Spring.
Prerequisites/Corequisites Prerequisite: advanced undergraduate course in dynamics or permission of instructor.
