Course Description
Course information provided by the Courses of Study 2014-2015.
The goal of "point-of-care" or "point-of-need" biomedical technologies is to enable delivery of healthcare services without having to leave the vicinity of the patient. Existing examples in diagnostics include everything from clinical heart-rate, blood pressure, and pulse oximetry monitors to home-based glucose devices for diabetics. Broadly speaking, point-of care/need technologies have two major purposes, the first, to reduce the time required to provide information about a medical or physical condition and secondly, to enable patients to maintain/monitor their own health status without having to visit a clinic.
When Offered Spring.
