PE 1610
Course Description
Course information provided by the Courses of Study 2024-2025. Courses of Study 2024-2025 is scheduled to publish mid-June.
Escape from campus to explore the glens, gorges, wooded hills, waterfalls, vistas and trails of the Finger Lakes region. Learn basic outdoor living skills, including hiking, navigation, equipment selection and use, camping, backcountry cooking, and safety.
When Offered Fall, Spring.
Fees Course fee: $395 for food/travel and instruction. Please reference the particular class listing webpage for gear information: https://scl.cornell.edu/coe/pe-courses.
Free to students who are in need of a PE credit (students will first be billed the course fee, after passing and completing the course they will then be reimbursed the course fee. They must pass the class in order to receive the reimbursement).
Satisfies Requirement Satisfies one PE requirement if taken as PE. First class is required, students must attend all classes to receive PE credit.

Course fee: $395. Fee waived if students still need PE credit to graduate (students will first be billed the course fee, after passing and completing the course they will then be reimbursed the course fee. You must fulfill course requirements in order to receive the reimbursement).The first class meeting will be held on campus in Bartels Hall, room B01. Other classes will first meet at Bartels Hall and then travel to other areas around Fingerlakes region. This class has two overnight weekends (9/28/2024-9/29/2024; leaving at 10am Saturday -- and 10/4/2024-10/6/2024; leaving at 5pm Friday). All group camping equipment and food is included (tent, stove, fuel, cooking pots, etc.).
Drop Deadline: Wednesday, September 4, 2024. Students will be responsible for the course fee and assessed a $50 late drop fee if they do not drop by the deadline.
