ECON 3130

Course information provided by the Courses of Study 2024-2025. Courses of Study 2024-2025 is scheduled to publish mid-June.

Provides an introduction to statistical inference and to principles of probability. It includes descriptive statistics, principles of probability, discrete and continuous distributions, and hypothesis testing (of sample means, proportions, variance). Regression analysis and correlation are introduced.

Prerequisites/Corequisites Prerequisite: MATH 1110 - MATH 1120 and ECON 1110 or ECON 1120.
Forbidden Overlaps Forbidden Overlap: due to an overlap in content, students who take ECON 3130 will not receive credit for any other course in the following group: BTRY 3080, ECON 3110, ILRST 3080, ILRST 3110, MATH 4710, MATH 4720, STSCI 3080, STSCI 3110.
