ASL 3201
Course Description
Course information provided by the Courses of Study 2024-2025. Courses of Study 2024-2025 is scheduled to publish mid-June.
This course provides an overview of various genres in American Sign Language literature including narratives, folklore, ABC stories, poetry, translated works and visual vernacular. Students will analyze contents, themes and stylistic techniques of works done by various ASL literary artists. This course emphasizes critiquing various narrative and poetic genres with planning and development of new literary works.
When Offered Fall.
Permission Note Priority given to: students enrolled in ASL 2202. Not open to: students who have previously taken ASL 2302.
Prerequisites/Corequisites Prerequisite: grade of B or higher in ASL 2201, or permission of lead ASL instructor.

Language Requirement Satisfies Option 1.
Comments Course conducted entirely in ASL. When offered in the same semester, ASL 3201 can be taken concurrently with ASL 2202.
