Instruction Mode: In Person
An interdisciplinary, community engaged service-learning course on how to do effective scientific outreach in environmental and organismal biology (http://blogs.cornell.edu/naturalistoutreach). The goals of this course are to 1) to train you to speak about science with passion and clarity, 2) to give you experience doing science outreach in different contexts, 3) to expose you to the diversity of careers in informal and formal science education, and 4) to help develop civically engaged outreach leaders of the future. Naturalist Outreach Program will give you outreach experience in classrooms throughout the region. With feedback from peers and instructors, students develop their own biological presentations and display materials. Speak to instructor for enrollment code.
