Healthcare providers and community-based organizations are collaborating to address social determinants of health (e.g., food, housing, transportation) and increase health equity (every person has the opportunity to attain full health potential). Students will work collaboratively with leadership at a population health management organization and in non-profit organizations that provide supportive services. Students will summarize and present themes from qualitative interview data, conduct grounded interpretation of data, and develop evidence-based recommendations to improve processes and systems, coordination of services, and data sharing. This course will be taught primarily through hands-on participation in real-world qualitative data analysis and participation in interprofessional teams (supported by readings and lectures). MPH students: Recommendations developed during this course can be used to write a grant proposal to meet ILE requirements (spring).
