Journey to a place of unique beauty just three hours north of thaca.  A different country (Canada) and a different world, one that is perfect to explore from the cockpit of a sea kayak.  Rich wildlife, granite cliffs and hundreds of rocky and forested islands, all after the hordes of summer tourists have departed.  We start with basics in the Helen Newman Pool before moving on a lake and finally the St. Lawrence Seaway. Learn paddling, navigation, safety, natural history, and camping skills. International travel documentation to Canada required.

Prerequisites/Corequisites Prerequisite: swimming ability.

  • Drop Deadline: Friday, September 6th; Course Fee: $495; if you have problems with online sign ups, email coed@cornell.edu. The first class will meet on campus at the Helen Newman Pool. The second class will briefly meet at Bartels Hall and then travel to Cayuga Lake. You will then have two classes held on Campus in Bartels Hall, room B01. The last class meeting will meet at Bartels Hall and then head out to the 1,000 Islands. Transportation is provided to places off campus. PREREQUISITE: Swimming ability.
