Course Description
Course information provided by the Courses of Study 2017-2018.
The course covers critical decisions in international marketing, and information needed to successfully adapt products and services and marketing programs to new geographic markets. There will be lectures, four case discussions, and group project work. Student teams will apply the learning to the brand of their choice, entering the market of their choice. Concepts include: how to determine when a brand is ready to expand internationally, how to decide which markets to enter and in what sequence, business model and local partnership structure options, how firms organize marketing responsibilities globally, and product and marketing adaptations based on local cultures, customs, economies, and competitors.
When Offered Fall.
Prerequisites/Corequisites Recommended prerequisite: background in core marketing.

***GM, GR and UG Srs/Jrs Only*** Attendance is required at all FOUR Sessions to receive credit for this class. NO EXCEPTIONS Add/Drop dates: Johnson Students – August 15th at 8:00am thru September 5th at 4:00pm or prior to first class if class is held before these dates. Students may attend first class, but must drop BEFORE the 2nd class meeting to avoid penalties. Send email to gm-registrar@cornell.edu before the 2nd meeting date to request the drop. There is a late fee of $100.00 for each add or drop transaction after the 2nd class meeting date. You will also receive a "W" on your transcript in addition to the late fees after the 2nd class meeting date. Non-Johnson students may add themselves to the waitlists during the enrollment periods, however Johnson Students have priority into the classes and non-Johnsons will be enrolled: 1) IF seats are still available after Johnson students complete their enrollment period and 2) IF the instructor allows.
