Course Description
Course information provided by the Courses of Study 2015-2016.
Examines the fundamental dynamics and processes of laminar and turbulent multiphase flows. While emphasis is on computational techniques for two-phase flows, extensive use will be made of experimental results to guide the discussion. Topics include liquid-gas dynamics (including fundamental flow instabilities, liquid atomization, spray dynamics, and phase change) and particle-laden flows (including mesoscale dynamics, Lagrangian and Eulerian representations, and modeling considerations).
When Offered Fall.
Prerequisites/Corequisites Prerequisite: Undergraduate-level fluid mechanics (MAE 3230 or BEE 3310/CEE 3310, CHEME 3230 or equivalent) or permission of instructor.
